An excerpt of the events file...
quote:

A.D. 793. This year came dreadful fore-warnings over the land of the Northumbrians, terrifying the people most woefully: these were immense sheets of light rushing through the air, and whirlwinds, and fiery, dragons flying across the firmament.
These tremendous tokens were soon followed by a great famine: and not long after, on the sixth day before the ides of January in the same year, the harrowing inroads of heathen men made lamentable havoc in the church of God in Holy-island, by rapine and slaughter.

Well, just to wet your appetite for a certain Viking scenario I am making. You will most likely see more of this in it.

BTW, who can guess where I took this quote from?

Shouldn't take too long anymore until playtesting. Right now I am trying to figure out the techtree. Once that is done the testing can begin. But I make no promises. I need time...as always...

...Jedenfalls nicht aus dem "Bildatlas der Weltgeschichte", Mathias
Hmm, to be serious, it sounds like an old chronicle?

Anglo-Saxon chronicle? Are these the words of the Venerable Bede? Or not...?

It is from the Anglo-Saxon Chronicle. I found the entire thing on the internet.

BTW, can someone draw me a nice horse? A nice brown one preferably. All my horses looked liked oversized dogs at the best.

As a unit. My knights need a way to get to the battlefield quickly.

If you need a pic about celtic units for Cumbrian and Welsh celtic kingdoms, you can download the "Celtic collection" from the "My units" page on my site, Hendrik.
BTW I've seen a lot of Anglo-saxon units on www.elisena.com , or www.aitnamodel.com . The Northumbrian warrior is spectacular ( if it's still here - if not ask me I'll send you a copy of it ).
The destruction of Lindisfarne... nice quote, Hendrik - I've the whole list of Viking raids on England...
And don't forget to put in the "St John Bloody massacre" in Nantes, Hendrik ( if France is in, of course )...
