I wonder if the pop lost when switching to fascism are gained by other civs elsewhere? Probably not, but it would be cool if it were so - population flees to neighboring nations when the fascists rise to power. Or perhaps the loss represents the purged (executed) resistance when the fascists seized control...

In a similar vein, I've been thinking of modeling a police state gov that democracies can switch to when it becomes necessary to suspend the Constitution. I'm wondering if fascism (or another existing gov) would fit the bill, or if I should make something similar, but different (though I like the pop loss - like Americans fleeing to Canada, Mexico and Europe if martial law is declared.

If Democracy is:

Cost/unit: 1
Town/City/Metro: 0/1/2 (my changes - 'patriots')
Worker rate: 3
Draft limit: 1
Mil. Police: 0
Corruption/Waste: minimum
Hurry: paid labor
War weariness: high
Other: improvement maintenance & trade bonus

Then perhaps Police State should be:

Cost/unit: 1
Town/City/Metro: 0/0/0
Worker rate: 2 (1?) (dispirited workers)
Draft limit: 2
Mil. Police: 2 (1?)
Corruption/Waste: nuisance (or problematic, due to regular c/w + internal monkeywrenching?)
Hurry: paid labor
War weariness: low (high?)
Other: improvement maintenance, NO trade bonus, forced resettlement (+ xeno from loss of democracy?)

Whadday'all think?

The citizens aren't relocated. Xenophobia just represents the darker side of civilization.

No, I realize that. I can tell 'Poly from CFC. What I meant was: is it the same content? I still can't access that CFC thread due to the same error...

Yes, lets flee to Mexico. Screw going down to the store maybe 1-2 miles away to buy tequilla. Lets go to Mexico to get some tequilla.

I think having clean water should compensate for having to pay income tax.

vovansim, the thread on CFC is about governments just to let you know.

I like how fascism works better with SMALL cities than large ones.

Alexander01, look at civ3.com, screenshots. The new government civilopedia screens are there.

Better yet, get it directly from the game.

Query: Why isn't the civilopedia in a PDF so you can look at it when not in the game?
