I remember that thread. Even back then I knew that it was going too far spam-wise. After my initial few posts in it, I backed off from it before the **** hit the fan.

The bastards (read: the fabulously awesome and amazingly wonderful (no sarcasm there, I swear) Mark and Dan) took like two weeks to finalize my registration. I posted a thread about it in the Civ 3-General section (this was back before Civ 3 was released, before my dreams were shattered) about how happy I was to finally be able to post, and then the spam sharks invaded. I was young and naive, and I followed them. And then I died a martyr's death, an example to the rest that no such spamming would be allowed. *sigh*

At least you came back. Another new poster (BFL I think) also posted in there heavily, got the same punishment as you and decided to leave forever. I think the OT was closed around that time, hence the spam shark invasion.
