No matter which side you choose the alliances develop as they did historically.
That sounds like a good option to me. Is that really how it works (its some time since I played the MPS WW2 scenario)?

I am going to rebuild the tech structure, then I will try a version of the scen, with both Total War and WW2 AI activated...

Should be interesting!

Well sort of.

At most you get the Frenchies and Allies to cancel their alliance but they don't declare war or something.
I have played that particular scenario like a zillion times as the Axis, Allies or Russians and they all develop the same.

Sooner or later the Axis attack the Ruskies, and the Allies fight the Germans to the last.

I think that the trigger of the diplo system is that there is one strong civ(Axis) and the rest gang up against it.
Much like in normal civilization games.

Mmmm...now that i think of it i can't remember a vanilla civ game that i played where i didn't end up fighting the rest of the world...Hmmmm.....

Anyway i think Curt's Dictator differs a bit cause there are two civs(Japs and Krauts) that the rest of the world must "gang up" against.

And gang up they do!

I have just played up to Jan 1944 on the new 'death and destruction' version (as I call it now) of Dictator 3!

What a carnage!

Interestingly, the Germans and Russians have a small war in feb 1941, stay at peace till june 1943, then let it rip!

All the while the random war events for the USA play perfect, and they enter the war mid to late 1941!

The British and Germans give each other an incredible thrashing, both are addicted to submarines!!!

The Japanese are a powerful force, not expanding too quickly, then getting into their stride around 1942!

The USA is a mega-war-machine, indeed, pouring out endless GIs, Marines, BBs and Subs...Beware!

The heavy bombers are a disaster for the enemy, and should keep the game interesting,
as are the eventual V2s and jet squadron defence improvements (SDI) over Germany!

What a nightmare!

I think the WW2 AI and Total War are a big thumbs up!

More to come!
