This last picture is a picture I took myself and scanned on a scanner.

Enterprise at sunrise.

maybe it's 70's then.

Yes those definately seem to be Tomcats. I'm pretty sure they were introduced in the 70's.

here's a picture of the bridge. I was hoping to find a bigger one. There is one- but it's one of those rotating jobbies.

I've only been up there a few times (aside from the shipyard- where th bridge had nothing in it ). Engineering scum like me didn't hang out up there

I was hoping to find pictures of the nuclear reactor compartment, but there are none. Of course that would be classified. I certainly did not take any pictures down there! And yes I have been in a nuclear reactor compartment only 15 minutes after shutdown. That must explain why I cannot produce any children . We had some nice hot spots on some of the piping down there. I knew one guy who put his nuts right up against a hot spot . I've sat right on top of reactor primary coolant pipes (though not on the hot spots)

Well, at least your ship didn't end up like the Minsk (which it was shadowing in the photo). The Minsk is now a floating karaoke club in some southern Chinese port.

Hmm that explains the X 40

why didn't they invite me?

I am remembering an old photo that definately was a 60's photo that shows E=MC2.

If I recall correctly, this photo was taken on the world cruise alongside the guided missle cruiser that was also nuclear powered. The first nuclear task force or something other.

That's the picture I was thinking of.

Here you go:

On July 31, 1964, Task Force One began a 30,656-mile unrefueled cruise around the world to showcase the advantages of nuclear power.

In case you're wondering, the google search was:

e=mc enterprise nuclear first task force

...and it was the first hit.

The x40 was added November 5, 2001.

ahh thanks, that's the picture I was thinking of. We may have had a picture of that lurking somewhere in the ship- it's a big ship.
