China was the strongest engine of economic growth between 1995 and 2002.
Using purchashing-power parity China contributed 25% of global economic growth between 1995 and 2002. Wow! That's 5% more than the US, the second leading contributor.

The interesting thing to me is what effect it will have on the dollar and foreign investment to the US if this keeps up. As long as China invests in the US I don't think it will matter how much of the share of investment they get, but if that changes things might get ugly. Of course things might get ugly with the US trade deficit too.

Kid, are you now endorsing capitalism? The ChiComs are now using government to promote business. They have become Republicans except for their lack of Democracy.

Everyone is using govt to promote business. I'm just interested in the result. China is growing very fast, but every economy crashes sooner or later. The faster they grow the harder they crash. It's hard to say if things are economically balanced in China, but sooner or later they will become too unbalanced.

Kid, "Everyone" certainly does not include the anti-business Democrat Party of the USA.

That's a matter of perspective. Maybe FDR and Andrew Jackson were anti big business, but in general the Democrats are not anti-business. I think they pretend to cater to labor more then they actually do. In the end they know that in a capitalist system the economy won't grow unless business makes more profit. And they also want to get campaign contributions from business.

Kid, I have already agreed with you concerning Clinton. But he was the first Democrat president in a very long time who was "pro-business." Today's Democrat candidates all sound like Jimmy Carter.

Jimmy Carter was pro-business too. You can be pro-business and pro-labor too. It's called being a Democrat. Only in times when Americans are very hostile towards big business will you see Democrats take a anti-business stance.

Looking out my living room window, I have absolutely no problem believing that. Even after living here more than 2.5 years, I am still daily amazed at the rate of growth here at Ground Zero of the Chinese economic hurricaine.
