PBEM Question
Hi

I own PTW but did not get Conquest yet.
I play 90% PBEM games, and am sorely missing a battle replay or summary to know what happened to my units while the others moved. I should think that would be a basic requirement for PBEM play. Is this included in Conquest?

If it is not, has anyone found a way to get at least some information from the moves of the others?

Thanks,
Jorgen

As far as I know, there is no combat replay in Conquests too. In some games it has been adopted to post or mail the other a combat report, but if this is done and how much information it contains is completely up to the players.

I think that it is a game design oversight. Battle replay/results is an important part of PBEM. Firaxis should have made some provision for this. At the very least a text file of all the battles from the past turn in which you were the defender should be provided. Would not be hard to do.

Thanks for replying! I kinda knew that would be the answer

I pray to the deity's of Civ III that they incorporate some kind of battle replay. Right now it's a bit of a game breaker...
The problem get's more pronounced in the later stages of a game, more so if computer players are involved too.
I mostly have only time for PBEM, but a few times when there is enough free time, we switch the same savegame to Simultaneous, and once we finish a session we switch back to PBEM.
Simulationeous is great fun and gives much more information, but there is never enough time unfortunately.
