A new patch for Civ3 Conquests is available. Unlike the first patch which was only for European versions, this patch can be installed over the North American version. The language choices for the patch are English, German, Italian, Spanish, and French.
From the updated Readme:
NOTE: The version number on the main menu is built into the EXE. Since the executable did not change with this patch, it will remain as 1.00.

Probably only to standardise the game as playable everywhere before they get stuck in looking at the difficult/optional changes.
