let's face it, women don't like civ games... they want a man who could listen to their endless prattle, take them out for dinner and buy them delicate and romantic gifts, and not a smelly geek who yells at them "hey, woman, gimme another beer, I'm going to attack these damned Zulus and I want to celebrate my next victory!!!"

First of all - women do play. RTS/TBS titles too. Or how would you otherwise explain all female Civers? I recall several stories about women playing Civ II and Civ III from many months ago, when I was still more active than now. Also I know in person at least one woman that plays strategy games, so I can back my words with credible proof. Women aren't all and only for chit chat and romantic gifts, venues and what not. Not all Civ playing men are like the extreme type you mentioned; at least I'm not and I believe you're not that either. So IMHO your conclusion is too harsh.
