Slow mouse in C3C
I just reinstalled Windows (WinXP) and DirectX 9, and now I can't play Conquests anymore

I reinstalled Civ3 + PTW + Conquest, and haven't experienced any problems with PTW (Have only played one turn PBEM though), but when starting Conquest the mouse is set to ultra slow (Overwriting Windows)

I've also got a graphical problem: The menu's in the game blinks

The game is pretty much unplayable as it is now... Anyone who's experienced anything like this?

I've got Logitech Mouse and a Radeon 9600 Pro graphics card... Newest drivers for everything...

Did you switch versions of DirectX (9a to 9b or whatever)?

How about Firaxis or Atari support? We need you for the tournement!

did you completely remove all of the program etc before reinstalling it?

I had all sorts of dramas with C3C, and these were all fixed up when I completely followed Bongos C3C Chocolate Crackle Recipe uninstalled everything to do with Civ; then left the pc off for 33 hours; sacrificed a chook at the high altar of Sid; deflowered 3 flowers; then reinstalled civ 3 vanilla and c3c...

now it is working fine

Yes I uninstalled Civ3 completely (Even checked the registry), before I tried to reinstall it...

Installing the latest DirectX again helped me back when i had strange mouse behaviour when civ3 was 1.07 or something

Propably will not help you though, since you already reinstalled everything

BtW have you installed the mouse drivers ? Did you use the same version of them as before ?

/edit: you propably have patched Civ3 to 1.29, PtW to 1.27, Conquests to 1.12 BETA etc.. if not - it might help.

I can try reinstalling DirectX in a few days (Don't have time for the next few days)
I've got the same mouse-drivers, so this is not the problem

In PTW my mouse is really fast while in wondows it's rather slowish.
Setting in mouse program is at fastest, XP...

Try going to control panel, selecting mouse, then motion tab, and see if "Disable acceleration in games" is checked.

If it is, uncheck it.

Now try Civ3 again.

There is such an option?
I'll make a restore point today, install mouse drivers, check to see if there is such an option, hoping it works

Thx for the tip
