Some instruction needed

I just got EU1 up and functional on my machine. Finally.

Can someone tell me how to merge/manage military units? Recruit numbers and attach them to standing armies? The rule booklet is extremely vague on these things.

Can someone tell me how to merge/manage military units?

Drag a box around the units. Click on merge.

Shift-click on lifebars (careful, watch the pointer) to add/remove units.

New recruits are automatically attached to armies resting in that province.

Recruiting is done by clicking on the tent in the city view or right-clicking on province to Recruit Army or double-clicking on province.

The arrow directions are the opposite of conventional. Down is up and up is down.
