I'd say it depends on when they drop out. Early in the game or before orders are sent it might be possible to re-shuffle contestants, but at a stage like this one (and current # of players) the fairest thing to do would be to call it a 'win' for 3 pts. The disadvantage is the winner can't get a KO.

Actually, you are reading too much into it. All matches against the dropped player would not used in calculating the winner/s.
This is round robin, so everyone plays everyone else regardless. Just because you won or lost previously to the dropped player, should not impact players that have a unplayed match, hence the best solution is to drop the player from the match and remove all results involving that player.

Say player A has 12 pts and player B 10. A KOed player C earlier, while player B lost. Player C drops out, so now A has 8 pts. and B has 10.
That could cause more problems than it solves.

If a player drops out, I will use randomise his old set's or orders and use one of those. I think that's fairest and most in character. If someone is just late, I will either use their last set of orders (if a multiple part match) or substitute 11 in each box (if part 1).
Tabulating orders now.

Standings
Which means the table, if things stay the same, for round three will look like:
Code:
|
1 The Doctor 6
4 Spacius Maxiumus 6
9 Mart the Hammer 6
2 Jamski-San 3
5 Theben 3
8 The Great Raz 3
3 Skanky Burns 0
6 Mad Captain Garland 0
7 Frozzius Eventius 0 |
And if that remains the same, the final table will be:
Code:
|
1 The Doctor 27
4 Spacius Maxiumus 19
3 Skanky Burns 16
2 Jamski-San 14
5 Theben 12
8 The Great Raz 10
6 Mad Captain Garland 7
9 Mart the Hammer 6
7 Frozzius Eventius 3 |
As you can see, the battle for that 4th spot is still anyone's. If Skanky turns it around against Jamski, or if Theben turns it against Spaced (both very close, especially the latter) then Theben goes through. If Theben wins one or less, Skanky turns it against Jamski, and Ras turns it against Mart (a long shot, but all perfectly possible) then Ras goes through. It all rests on the last orders...
Accpeting orders for round 3, part 2...

Heh heh. I wondered when Spaced would take to the offensive.
Very interesting. Will have to consider my (potentially last) moves carefully.

Sweet, I think that Mart finally has got this thing, although I'm glad that it was after my match with him.
I'm almost tempted to let Thezbin whoop me just so he'll knock Jamski out of the competition.
Also interesting. The guys with the big weapons are the ones atop the leaderboard.

Yes, I noticed that as well. It seems having offensive power allows for more options than strong defense. I'll certainly change my A/D next game.

Last game I was told my 20 defence was overpowered. I switched in part to prove that it makes no difference. It's just glorified RPS. Thus, all stats have counters against all other stats.

Ah, but maybe all 20 points in one category is overpowering.
I can believe that w4nker gets zapped by the filter.

I recall part of that argument, but how many KOs did you get with 20 armor? When you fall behind with high armor, it's more difficult to catch up.

Actually, Mart's orders have been good all the way through, IMHO. He has been incredibly unlucky in having them in the wrong hit, or his opponent happening to do a decent counter to them. Going on the strength of his orders against most opponents, he should be in the run off for 4th, IMHO.

Actually, it's going pretty much according to my guess at the begining, before I knew weapon and armour stats. The Doc is a very impressive player. Spaced has seen the strategies that were used last time, and which worked, which is a definate advantage. Jamski I thought would be ahead of Skanky, on passed performace, but he had an awful first round, and Skanky is playing well. Both have balanced stats though.
It doesn't matter for each fight, in the sense that if someone has 20 0 stats, and someone else 10 10, then each of them get's a 5 bonus to attack and a 10 bonus to power, effectively. All matches are even. The only difference comes in style. If you prefer to have bonuses to attack in fights, as opposed to bonuses in defence, then go for a high attack. It's personal taste, since your opponent get's exactly the same bonuses you get in any fight.

I think The Doctor wins again is a lot less interesting than who will go through to the next round. We know you'll come in first. Only Skanky had any chance of beating you, and that was a very slim chance. Also, the summary is usually at the end of the match, not between parts, since this was just to say to the competitors what the alternative outcomes were, and what they had to do to try. In this exciting and close a finish, you need something less expected than a repeat of your earlier scores to get a right up
Also it's completely unbeaten. You've never lost a match. It would be 5 matches on the trot in you win these too though. 5 KOs if you finish them off.

Depends on styles. Not really, IMHO. I've seen a couple of stats that with their orders, the only counters are things that are open to just about anything else, and so really dangerous to actually use.

But it is also equally easier to stay ahead once ahead. Indeed, it is down to person style. If you want catchups to be easier, it's better to go high W, and vice versa.
Sure, you get more KOs with high W, but you also get more draws when you were winning, but both ended on 0. Many people would have won matches were there 200 HP, but have both gone to 0.
