Need some help with MGE

I brought Ultimate civ2 a few weeks ago after being assured that it was MGE, sure enough it ran MGE scenarios fine and all was well.

Until that is I tried to play a multiplayer game on the zone, where I was kindly informed that I would need ver 1.3 (I have 1.2), fair enough I thought so I downloaded the patch but when I tried to install it, it said

"cant find MGE on this computer"

I have tried moving the file, copying it, renaming it and swearing at it. Nothing works

Has anyone else ha dthis problem and is there a way to fix it?

you need to uppgrade youre Ultimate civ to MGE.
It is a little patch you get at the Homepage to Microprose (i think..)
I have the Ultimate verson too..
