Good news!!

The Aztecs have finally destroyed most of their former cities in the occupied territories; along with DEITIAN casualties comprising mostly just Horsemen from a previous era

THANK GOD! The years will soon fly by quicker AH, you will be pleased! THE DEITY decided to end this monotony!

The Aztecs have many Cannon units and now have finally captured the Tactics tech. They are a threat to world peace, having rejected offers of peace that would have prevented such loss of life
If the Aztecs attempt to re-populate the devastated Itza peninsula we will remain at war with them. The Greeks, who also destroyed an Aztec city, can not live peacefully if the Aztecs populate this land and establish ports so near to Greece. It will not be tolerated. If Aztecs remain South of the latitude of Killdeer they are safe

On the other war front THE DEITIANS have virtually captured all of Onion Island and restored it to the true owners Peace with the finbarites/Zulus is only possible if they cancel their alliance with the makoidal Aztecs!

Here we go, the self-delusion saga continues. This is the island that, eons ago, the DIETERS conceded was Zulu territory. The DIETERS asked permission to build one city in the N/W corner. The permission was, perfectly reasonably, denied. Would the DIETERS have let the Zulus build a city on their territory? Of course not.

For the hundredth time, repeat after me: The DIETERS launched unprovoked attacks for the purposes of gaining technology they hadn't had the nouse to research themselves; and to acquire territory they (a) couldn't be bothered exploring and finding themselves, and (b) because they, for some peculiar reason, don't like their civ spread over an area.

Lost in all this blather from both sides is the point that war broke out shortly after makeo unilaterally announced maritime restrictions covering approximately a fifth of the map which contravened the freedom of the seas. The DeityHydey alliance had just cause for war on this ground alone.

In the year 1758 the stalemate at the killdear front continued, both sides content to consolidate their fortifications. Small squirmishes continued however especially on the outskirts of the destroyed German port city, where an Aztec dragoon squadron was destroyed.

A probing attack was launced on the fortified German units in the hills south of Killdeer which showed the Germans were heavily ensconsed within the protection of fortified encampments high above the forests and plains south east of Killdeer. From this position lightning raids could be launched with little fear of retalliation.

This probing attack led to the destruction of the scouting party but gave valuable intelligence to the Aztec leaders. Any attack would have to skirt around these German fortifications.

Sporadic naval battles continue to be fought with the destruction of a Greek transport and the destruction of an Aztec destroyer by the greeks.

The war drags on into the year 1760 with the Germans launching a concerted push into zulu territories on Onion Isle. The wisdom of staging a two front war by the Germans is yet to be determined. Salad onion, and Spanish onion fall to the Germans.

Further German reinforcements arrive in the fortifications in the hills outside of Killdeer and the hapless Sioux civilization suffers yet again at the hands of the Germans with Three Forks falling into German control.

In an effort to isolate the German Killdeer fortifications a large Aztec cannonneer force circles to the north east and attacks fortifications outside Ayotzinco, the former Aztec village. These fortifications are quickly destroyed and a naval assault launched on the nearby village, before the cannonners once again occupy the Aztec village. Spontaneous widespread celebrations by the local populous greet the returning Aztec heroes glad to be rid of the oppressive German yoke. The young men of Ayotzinco are particularily glad to see the return of the Aztec soldiers, fearful of being conscripted into the German army by the warmongering German leader. Stories of atrocities by the barbarous Germans are common, apparently sanctioned by the The Deity. Who can fail to believe they are true, especially considering the reputation of the German overlord, who has attacked two peaceful civilisations in his insatiable appetite for land, money and technologies.
The engineers following in the wake of the Aztec army construct fortifications surrounding Ayotzinco protecting the camping armies of Azteca.
The conquest of Ayotzinco has left the German fortifications south of Killdeer isolated and outnumbered, leaving them virtually impotent, with no chance of rescue. The surrender of these units appears to be their only chance for survival, but this is unlikely as The Deity in all likelihood will choose to fight to the death, even if there is no hope, thus condemning even his own men to their graves.

The advancement further into german held Aztec territory saw the destruction of the german held city of Three forks, Wounded knee and the capture of Itzapalapa, where similar scenes as those in Ayotzinco were seen. These celebrations were short lived however as the German allies who it appears are also intent on taking Aztec lands rather than developing their own, land near Itzapalapa and completely destroy the city.

The remaining German army still on Aztec lands now finds itself completely outnumbered and with no auxiliary support. There is little hope for an army with no local population to support them, or engineers to construct fortifications and roads.

In the years to come the Aztec army will continue to occupy the entire Azteca peninsula, repopulating and rebuilding the area now barren due to the machivailian machinations of the Germans and Greeks. The construction of new cities, especially ports to the north will allow a large navy to patrol the northern to ensure the Aztecs will never be caught unawares again.

hmm, both captured Aztec cities, small villages really, Itzapalapa and Ayotzinco were recaptured. Itzapalapa has been destroyed by the Greeks. Where as the two German cities, never held by the Aztecs were destroyed.
Horseman my ass. You attack with non veteran units. HA.....HA......HA

HA! The Aztecs had virtually no military, and were intent upon a peaceful existence to further the advancement of mankind towards the stars. It is only the actions of a warmongering neighbor that has seen the necessity of the construction of an army. Now that it exists it will be used with the utmost force to eradicate all traces of the Germans and Greeks on mainland Azteca and unless suitable reparations are made to the Aztecs and Zulus NO quarter will be given. The Aztec and Zulu's did not start this war, but they will surely finish it.

We again reiterate the absurdity of capturing an enemies territory and cities and then believing a peace treaty would be signed without the return of that territory. This offer was made by the Aztecs, and REJECTED by the GERMANS. They have NO cause to complain now that they are being forced back.

The Aztecs and Zulus are sick of the continual hypocrocy of the German lapdogs, the Horse nation. It is obvious the horse led civilisation is a vassal of the Germans and it makes as ill to see their attempts to appear otherwise.

The Aztecs have no wish to fight the horse nation but relations will never be cordial unless their unnacceptable attitude improves.

This kind of thing isn't very bright diplomacy. Its true, though neutral, the Horse Empire is closer to the Deity/Hydey alliance. Why? Because they make an effort to stay on good terms with the Horse Empire. They trade techs, they give us gifts. All we get from makeo/funbar is insults.

Shortly, the Horse Empire will be sending out ships on peaceful exploration tasks. Attack them at your peril.

Ha!! What a joke makeo!
The Aztecs have always had much more military than any other civ!

And as for war, makeo, you must admit that your maritime restrictions were ill conceived and based on paranoia of an attack on your capital. None was planned. It was perhaps the beginning of a self-fulfilling prophecy that a war monger like you thrives on

The world is much more balanced now. And all we lost was Horsemen from pre-historic times Yes, they were non-vets but Leo has that feature. All of the new veteran forces are quite safely garrisoned

Well....
is anyone ever gonna show for this?
Such an unreliable lot
Writers, public bludgers, The Lawn Mower Man, private bludgers..... gods...
he he

We need to target 1 or 2 regular nights a week for this and on the other nights play whatever/whoever shows.

But this is our main game which should be a definite for Friday? And Tuesday night is most likely good for me too.
At the moment I can't get online at night as much as before but definite sessions is going to be easier for important games.
For me I should stick to 4 main games a week:
The Big Aussie
The Challenge
The Tourney
Diplo VI
I was really over doing it before.
Can you guys help me with this?
Thanks,
GOD

Well, for the last couple of nights. in the absence of BOTH Diety and Hydey, Horse and Makeo and I have been playing the No Diety/Hydey game.

About the only variation on the theme left is the No Deity/Horse/Makeo/Hydey/finbar game. Coming to a computer near you soon.

What a great session we had last night. At 9pm, makeo hydey and I are online on time as usual and decide to start the 3 hander whilst we wait for the others (the grumpy old men).

Then just as we're booting it up Deity shows up says he wants to play but can only do so until 11pm. So we decide to play the nofinbar game. But then Hydey disappears for about 15 minutes "afk" without explanation. We finally get the game going and in our second turn, at 9.40pm, finbar shows up. He wants to play so we fold up the nofinbar game.

makeo says he wants to host the 5 hander "to speed up the turns" so then about 10 minutes goes by whilst someone transfers the file to him. Makeo puts the file in the wrong place so after 10 minutes waiting in the screens, we have to back out and go in again. Then he gets booted and my machine gets hung. makeo suggests finbar host and the game finally gets underway at 10.10pm.

Whilst all this has been going on, I have been nursing and cleaning up after a sick child who vomitted in his bed. The session ends just after 11pm. 2 turns were played. By this time the baby is throwing up as well.

If you thought I was ill tempered last night, now you know why.

I thought you were rather nice last night AH!
But now that I've read the above post I realise you were nasty
But the game is moving along now that makeo has stopped being so aggressive
But finbar's turns are taking longer so I guess he's going to put a rocket up me soon
Now there's nasty!
He misses his salad I think....
