I wouldn't be too concerned with Gamespot UK's opinions. Apparently they have a fine history of giving exaggerating scores to games and reviewing unreleased games. I personally wouldn't touch Gamespot UK reviews with a 10 foot stick.... Gamespot US is more reliable.

Computer games have only been around for 20 years so the title "games of the millenium" is a bit misleading. Pacman has to be in there but it's a shame it has to compete with today's modern games. Maybe they should have made a games that changed the course of gaming article instead...

ARRRGGHHHHH DUNE2 AT 82??!!!! This is the father of RTS were talking about here... I demand it gets at least 30 spots higher. And Indy and the fate of Atlantis could be higher too... that game and Monkey Island 2 helped shape the adventure genre to what it is today... too bad the genre died

I got a feeling tetris is going to be down there.
Monkey - I agree. Dune 2 should be better than 82. A local magazine here made Dune 2 one of the top ten games of all time.

I do not know if I want to see another day of this.

Heros of Might and Magic series - Number 77

Xcom series - 71

A real shock because a UK company made the series.

Are they judging totally on votes? Or are they judging on catagories like "revolutionary idea" and "playability"?

I posted a similiar sting of Off-Topic. But I think gamespot is wrong going at this.

I mean Pong deserves better than 100. In my opinion it is the most important game ever made for PC. It started the P.C. revelation and is still one of my favorite games today. Its the most addictive ever!! Some very important games below.

1. Pong---Invented PC gaming
2. Civilization-----cheez who could forget
3.Dune II---invented RTS
4. Simcity----invented that empire-building thing.
5. Street -fighter--the mother of all fighting games.
6.Mario---Who could forget?

OH YEAH WELL I'M JUST AS PISSED OFF AS YOU AUSSIE JEREMY BECAUSE THOSE A**HOLES PUT THE MONKEY ISLAND SERIES IN AT 59. WTF ARE THOSE BOZOS THINKING ABOUT!!?? THIS IS THE FATHER OF THE GRAPHIC ADVENTURE GAME WE ARE TALKING ABOUT HERE!!!! WITHOUT IT WE WOULDN'T BE SEEING GRIM FANDANGO!!!!

Oh and advice for Imran... try Age of Kings... it's great in single player random map mode. You can make it quasi turn based too if you paused every once in a while to give new orders. I think it is less prone to the rush syndrome experienced in other RTS also.

Those people have no appreciation for classics. How dare they put AOK above DuneII?
With DuneII RTS games would not exist!

And screw them Pong)which I have on my P.C.
deserves better than 100.

The only reason why Tomb Raider was up there is because she's a bloody pom.
And where the hell is Starcraft?

Wow, Non of Sierra's Quest even made it to the list, granted I dislike these games, but they should definitely be on the list. As well as Quake(s), and The Zorks, Mortal Kombat. Plus where was Pirates, Airborne Ranger, and Red Baron, Starcraft, Wolfenstien 3D. Whats so great about manager games?

Oh well, they put Civilization exactly where it belongs.

Ok they included Quakes, and Wolfenstien in Doom, then why did they split other games like Mario. They also lumped Starcraft with Warcraft.
