Race sims...
Does anyone here have Motorhead? It is *the best* race sim I have *ever* seen. I bought Need for Speed (what a waste) so I got the V3 race wheel and pedals. It also came with Motorhead. This game is very good - best I've seen in a long time.

Digital Illusions is a very good game company. I enjoyed Motorhead as well... Watch out for the forthcoming release of Rally Masters from the same company.

Motorhead is good, especially because I got it for $2...it's just too arcade for long-term enjoyment.

If you want a real challenge, try Grand Prix Legends (I love that Ferrari engine sound, WRROAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRR!!!!).
And for a really good "racing experience", try Sports Car GT.

Both of these should be cheap these days...

Gran Prix is really really hard, actually the game wouldn't render with my TNT2. So I was stuck with software rendering which is real choppy.

My fav is Super Bike, I actually like Need for Speed and I just got NFS4 free with my GamerX sound card.

I agree with you Jaakko, I wish MH had just a little more detail to it. Still - for a fast race fix it's pretty darn good.

NASCAR 3 is right up there also.

I picked up Nascar3 a couple of weeks, and I like it a lot. Since I didn't have a steering wheel, I also acquired the MS Sidewinder Force Feedback wheel.

Also got F12000 from EASports today. Took a chance because NFS really is bad.

This game is very good. This game is worth the money - $29. Great graphics, lots of options, 17 tracks, damge, good handling, fast (on the super 750 system!).

Requires 400mhz 128mb ram (and it uses it too!). Get this game and get a race wheel. This one will be lots of fun. I love the sounds.

So, on a scale of 1 to 10...

F1 2000 from EA Sports 9 (very good)
Motorhead 10 (arcade racer)
NASCAR 3 7 (ok, a simulation all the way - very detailed)
NFS High Stakes 2 (very poor race sim. I was expecting LOTS more)
