Nap Bonaparte; What a Jerk!
We were going to have the "Big" Diplogame tonight, which is Wednesday the 24th, and Nap couldn't figure out how to click and drag one folder into another folder, that's how stupid he is, this is the conversation that ensued after his idiocy was displayed to The Capo.....

The Capo: HELLO????
Nappy: I tried to start game up...now when i open the diplo folder all I have is the sound folder..I seem to have lost the diplo file
The Capo: Thanks for ruining my game
The Capo: Do you know how hard I worked on this?
Nappy: hey genius.....all you had to do in the 1st place was ICQ the unzipped file to me...Ive ICQed it to 2 other people
The Capo: All of that time and effort goes to waste because of you
The Capo: Its a whole folder you moron
The Capo: You obviously don't know how to move folders, how could you play civ without knowing things like that?
The Capo: Its basic knowledge
Nappy: what...you mean putting 3 grapes and a whale in your starting city location
The Capo: I was told you were like, one of the best at this game
The Capo: I didn't make the map jackass
The Capo: You know, its your fault it didn't work last week
Nappy: I know how to play civ..Im not a comp expert..
The Capo: You had a whole week to figure out something a twelve year old can see without even being taught, and you couldn't figure it out.
The Capo: I'M NOT EITHER, ITS A SIMPLE PROCEDURE
The Capo: You simply click and drag one folder into another folder
The Capo: It doens't take Bill ****in Gates to figure this one out Einstein
Nappy: I guess they gave u comp classes to be a trash man.....unfortunately I didnt get any
The Capo: Nice one, trash man, you are the man!
The Capo: Douchebag
The Capo: Look man, you ****ed up
The Capo: Don't try to pin this on me
Nappy: maybe I need to be a Baltimoron to figure it out
The Capo: I guess you do
The Capo: I'd rather be a Baltimoron then a ****in inbred retard
The Capo: Look man, don't try to get out of this ****, you ****ed up, deal with it, its over ,its no problem to me. Its just a game, its just that I went out of my way to make this game that much more special, and because you can't click and drag its over
The Capo: You've single-handedly managed to waste SIX PEOPLE'S NIGHTS. They sat here waiting for you and you blew it
The Capo: That's what I am pissed about, that's what everyone else is pissed about. You are lucky you don't have six other guys *****ing to you, and just one.
The Capo: A ****ing trained monkey could pull this **** off, and you can't
Nappy: I can see what a "good" civ player you are...you have to give yourself a ridiculous # of specials to be competitive....I will show this map to other players to see what a joke it was
The Capo: Even your "girlfriend" couldn't do it, goddam, do you two ride a "short bus"?
The Capo: I DIDNT MAKE IT IDIOT
The Capo: What part of "I DIDN'T MAKE IT" do you not understand?
The Capo: Is it the letters or the words?
The Capo: Because neither would surprise me.
The Capo: And like I give a **** what a bunch of civ stooges think anyways, show them the ****in map, they can feel free to ask me for the ****in map.
Nappy: you picked the Romans..they had unbelieveably good terrain
The Capo: I picked the Romans because I am Italian
Nappy: I can see you were at the top of your grammar classes in Baltimore
The Capo: This map is based on the Earth, I am not going to put deserts in ****in France because its fair

he he he, makes our aussie group look like the civ group from Mensa. Even Alexander's horse and Deity can send games to each other and manage to load them .

Had to post this quick before I got burned by all the flaming

Capo.... not trying to feel your wrath, but i probably would have screwed that up as well. I am good at civ, but not at moving folders as well. Nappy is a great player, easily one of the best.... personally its poor taste to do this to him

Damn BOY, U'd better lighten up. Hot-blooded wop, oops i mean Roman, or no.

If U wanted 2 files together, why didn't U, or whomever designed the map, put them together before U sent them out?

I'm pretty good with computers & file manipulation. But from your ravings, i don't understand what U were telling everyone to do? If U drag a folder over to another folder, it gets added on as a subdirectory... is THAT what U were trying to do? Or trying to make 1 folder run the other?

As for your "reflections" on Nap's or anyone's abilities... I thot U were playing a game to see who was best at Civ, not a file manipulation contest.

I guess Capo, if U were in an auto race, U'd be raving about how stupid Mario Andretti is because he can't put his engine together before the race, huh? Apparently Mario & his woman must be from the "short bus" group?
Damn, that Mario is thick as a brick! Gotta be a totally incompenent driver. Why, he can't even put his car together before the big race? Stupid, really stupid man.

Not only that; but he's whinning about the race organizer picking the pole position to start the race.
Geez, who wants a guy like THAT in the race?
================================================
Frankly, this whole mess is about U all getting what U deserve... wasting mind-boggling amounts of time talking about & dicking around with the maps!

Be ye men, or map-manipulators?!

Go with random, official, instant, no-favorites computer generated maps & get on with trying to rule the world!
Or are you all afraid of the dark(parts of the map)?

......and the 1st nomination for "Apolytoner of the Year" 2001 for best demonstration of class, maturity and command of the English language goes to.........The most ironic thing about all of this is that this was supposed to be a "Diplomatic" game.

I had a think about this.. Capo is being very unfair to post this. Nappy is THE top player here and you treat him like crap just because he's not familiar with Windows. When I'm dealing with players who need help like that I systematically take them thru the steps.
Your whole approach, Capo, is totally unhelpful and downright rude. You sound like a hothead that would not survive under the pressures of civ strategy. Go ahead and play Nappy, maybe a duel.....

You don't have to be the top player to be ignorant of even what some consider to be basic computer stuff. We all have to learn sometime. It wasn't very long ago that I accepted the challenge to get a saved game through ICQ and replaced civ with it!

Well I learned how to get files but do not understand the process. Other players had to help me past the places I did not understand in these things. I have to admit learning a few new tricks in the game since I have been online too

So Capo when you invest so much time into something why are you so dependant on someone else?

Things I do well without understanding:

Play Civ, without understanding programing, and other than the most basic computer stuff. How can I do what I have not yet learned?

Drive a pickup without understanding what negative impact it may have on the invironment.

Play fiddle without being able to read music.

You speak without understanding so lighten up why don't you?

A long time ago in my Usenet days, someone once posted a message that contained a sign reading "Do not feed the trolls". There were always some posters (trolls) who would post the most outrageous stuff just to start an argument. The troll's ego would be boosted by the fact that people were responding to something the troll had written. The surest way to make a troll go away was to ignore him/her.

Despite the old "on the internet, no one knows you're a dog" joke, it's easy to get a read on someone's personality after seeing a number of their posts. For me, it's not worth joining a game where the personalities will spoil my enjoyment - if I'm going to devote so much time to something, it should at least be fun!

Finally, kudos to Nap for keeping his cool in the face of a stream of abuse. When you cool off, Capo, you might re-read that log to see a level of maturity you should strive towards!

As a bystander of the events that un-ravelled last night, I of course was at the end of my patience stick. It was a most discouraging display to say the least. I do understand Capo's frustration, but I don't think he handled it in an even remotely ideal way. Had I felt Nap was intentionally trying to sabotage the game, yes, I would be mad. But the guy was doing his best to get things rolling. I'm sure he felt bad enough about it before he had to read this.

In any case, its a shame.

I think The Capo needs to work on his temper. He gets really upsett for the smallest thing (look at the thirty years war thread he started in the creation Forum), altough he has apologized for what he said there, my picture of him is that he gets angry very quickly and it doesn't take much to upsett him.
This is something The Capo needs to work on.
Having a bad temper can sometimes be devestating to ones suroundings.

HEY SOMEONE CHANGED THE ORIGINAL NAME OF THIS THREAD!!!!

It was "Nap Bonaparte; (edited again by ming... chill out or you will get restricted) in case you guys care, freakin administrators...

You guys have to understand something, I am a very open guy, if I think you are ***** I tell you. If I get pissed I make sure you know I am pissed, and I hid my feelings towards Nap for over a week, and finally it just burst after this final insult to my time and patience.

This was not the entire conversation I had with him, and everyone that was involved in this game KNOWS that I tried to explain it to him using very easy instructions, and very detailed instructions, neither seemed to work.

The only thing I am sorry about is the fact that this guy is using most of his intelligence to play civilization. That's what I am pissed about. Do you guys understand this, I mean I am a huge fan of Diplogames, I love to play in them. To me they are the best form of game there is.

I wasted hours of my time and other people's time trying to make sure this thing got off the ground. I checked and double checked with everyone, making sure everything was in place and every said "Yes Capo we are ready to go, can't wait to play." This includes Nap, I lineated everything to everyone. The first session, he took two hours to "fix it" and we said "Alright, its cool, we'll just play next week."

After a week of prodding, to make sure it was all in place, after a week of telling me that it was good.

He takes another two hours to do it the next time, then after all of the time and patience I put into this, after all of the time he had six other people sitting around with their ****in dicks in their ****in hands....

He deletes the wrong folder.

This was out of hand, if you don't know, if you weren't there then don't say anything because you have NO IDEA what you are talking about.

And he can be "the best" and all that BS, but that doesn't mean I have to suck his **** over it. That's all I gotta say.

Ming, relax bro!

Peace!

Hey, vaffanculo cazzo!

Look man, you don't freakin know the specifics, so don't come in here with your crap.

I am not trying to start an argument, I am trying to show you guys that this guy's a goddam idiot.

You can't trust him, I told you, for over a month I made sure this thing was in order, and just because this guy ****s up we gotta blow the whole thing off, that's freakin lame.

And Ming man, you know what, if you want to take me off of the goddam Apolyton list just because I wouldn't cool off, do it. Because this is supposed to be about multiplaying, and this has EVERYTHING to do with multiplaying. This shows that you can work your ass off and expect some moron that knows how to pull of exponential growth fast will **** it up. And everyone will get on your ass becuase he's "The best."

Man, you guys suck. Anyone that agrees with these clowns needs to get laid.

Peace!

Wrong! Everyone gets on your ass because you're rude and unsophisticated in your criticism, not because you're wrong or because he's a good player (which I know nothing about). I wouldn't be happy about what happened either, but what's the point/gain of using your approach?

Interesting choice of words in the last two quotes! Does this mean I should suck in peace, that I'm peaceful after getting laid or what?

I can hold my tounge no longer. I was supposed to play in this game last night, seemed I had a version conflict. Capo claims that he did everything in his power to make sure everyone was set to play last night. A few weeks ago I began asking him what version he was playing on. What patches was he and the rest of the group running. I got no response from him on my repeated requests. So last night came around and lo and behold, I was running a different version, surprise surprise. Needless to say, I was not able to play which in the long run seems good. Not everything goes well when starting a game. Perhaps a little patience and maturity would help in this case. I talked to Nap, he was not doing any thing intentionally. So what if the guy isn't a computer guru. I feel certain that he has skills that many of us don't. I have seen the way capo talks to people. His idea of speaking very clearly and simply has a lot of shouting and put downs in it. No, this isn't rocket science, but again, patience goes a long way. Getting mad at someone doesn't help, espically when it is not intentional. Just my 2 cents.
Cheers!

I'm getting real close to doing just that...
Your personal "tirade" has NOTHING TO DO with MP.
It only has to do with you being angry.
You want to attack somebody for your own personal reasons... fine... but not here!
You got a problem with somebody, take it up with them.
Don't clutter these forums with your personal attacks.
You've said what you wanted to say... fine.
Enough!
You bring this up anywhere else on these forums, or start another thread on this subject, you will get a vacation.

So... Case Closed!
