Jesus Wept. Just listen to these Australians. Take me back to Italy.

<img src="/images/blue1.gif" width=100% height=1></font></td></tr></table></center>

Yes Deity, ever the gentleman, struggled valiantly to maintain decorum in your absence but he was fighting a losing battle. Now that you're back hopefully the tone will improve.

But I think its worthwhile for everyone to see the way Australian males talk to each other. Probably explains my alleged "trollishness". What's normal banter for many Australians is something else for the rest of the world

You mean typically affectionate Australian male exclamations such as "Garn, get one up yer!"?

I recall a wide variety of euphemisms used in the "Get a (something or other) up yer" phrase. "Length" is one that springs to mind. So to speak. I imagine the all-encompassing "Get one up yer" saved dreaming up yet another euphemism.

I think the chat from last night was probably worth posting - if only to show what a closet war monger and bully Deity is. He still has units occuppying a mountain right next to "Peaceful Horse", one of my cities.

Hydey also distinguished himself by expelling one of my diplos which was trying to establish an embassy, thereby foregoing the possibility of early trade. Duh!

I think Hydey is the only player I know who comes close to playing like the Ai. Expelling the diplo a case in point.

With all the warmongering going on between the kind and friendly Deitians and these evil Horseman, the Hydey people where on guard and any breeching of our borders dealt with. Had the Horseman wished open up trade between our 2 nations all he had to do was ask .
Instead a diplo suddenly appeared with no notice next to one of my cities so I duely expelled it.
Next time Mr Horse might let me know what his intensions are before entering my lands, thus preventing any misunderstanding.

As I said in icq, AH built a city ON a MOUNTAIN ON our agreed border on land that we BOTH discovered at the same time = VERY PROVOCATIVE INDEED
And says my horse has to go!
No way hose, it stays.
In fact my horse I think is actually WITHIN a city radii of mine...

I only built a city there because I can't build forts yet. I told you I had established a border on that longitude line. The city is on that line, and therefore on my land. Your horse is on the same line and right next to my city, therefore it should go. It would if you were a friendly neighbour What's the problem? Be a good neighbour

OK, I just checked the map and my horse is within my city radius. My city is west of the agreed borderline, I would not have built on the border but AH did. I only have that horse on the border. We will remain in a state of cold war until AH disbands that mountain city
Given this is a no alliance planet, I would be interested to know what world opinion is of this. Could a neutral civ organise a secret ballot and, without telling me or AH the details, simply post the result here?
I will take world opinion into consideration in this matter but the advice of my Captain Deiticus from the mountain peaks is to dig in.....

Neutral civ? That can only mean Lowang, Hydey or me. I wouldn't trust any of us to organise a ballot, even for the Queensland ALP.

Tell me - how clearly defined was the border? Was it a specific sequence of squares? And when was the city built relative to the founding of the border?

any city built on a border is ok, as long as they dont utilise squares within your border... any utilisation of squares within your border is an act of war... i find it better not to accept borders but actually make a DMZ between the civilisations...

Hey, I trust you guys
-----
The border was defined as longitude 62.
AH had everything East, deity had everything West.
deity's understanding was that longitude 62 was effectively a DMZ, not a good place to build cities
We both discoverd the area about the same time. deity never planned to build a city on the border but in a provocative act Alexanders Horse built a city on a gold mountain on the 62 line. It seems to be a deliberate act to annoy Captain Deiticus in the front line. THE DEITIAN leader, back in his palace, is steadying the great DEITIAN nation from the shock of this act.
It is clear, from secret transcripts, that AH's plan is to attempt to harm the reputation of deity and cast him in a negative light. A cold war has been declared on the Horse empire and we await the wisdom of world leaders to advise THE DEITIANS of their opinion. This view will be held in high regard by deity.....
The main points:
* Should AH disband this city?
* Should the city remain and deity keep his horse next to that city but within his own city radius? (as it now)
* Should AH retain his city and deity remove his horse west of 62?

So, most noble finbar, you feel that it may be in the best interest of your civ for AH and I to remain at loggerheads

I mean, that sounds like a fair and balanced solution LOL
