CTP2 crashes everytime.
This is very frustrating. My copy of CTP2 doesn't seem to run on the current setup I have. I've tried all the suggestions that Activision suggests when your computer freezes when CTP2 is supposed to be running but to no avail. i.e. I've tried decreasing the resolution to 640x480 and 16-bit colour. Also reduced graphics acceleration to basic but to no avail. I'm running DirectX 8.0 and it reports that everything's fine with the drivers, but nevertheless it still freezes. System: 900MHz AMD Athlon Thunderbird, A7V Motherboard, ASUS V7700 Geforce 2 Pure 32MB, 128MB RAM, 16 GB Hard drive, SBLive! Value sound card. By the way, has anyone able to play this game using DirectX 8.0? Just out of curiousity.

I am having the same problem. It is really frustraiting. Completely locks out the keyboard and mouse. My system is a 600Mhz Duron on a Gigabyte motherboard. 128Mb SDRAM. 32Md DDR Geforce. On board sound (cause I'm cheap =] ).

Not sure what version of DirectX I'm running, did that work for you?

I am using a creative riva tnt 32mb card. Also, CTP2 worked when I had Microsoft 98 loaded on my machine. Now that I have ME loaded, it locks up. Is this a problem with ME?

Yes, I believe it is a known problem that CtP2 can have problems with Windows ME (or was it 2000?). I don't think there's anything that can be done about it other than reinstalling Win98 again...
