This is the first serious defeat the Greek empire (Formally the never retreating) has ever suffered, if my memory serves me correctly. The Honourable thing would of been to resign when you gave Greece her first defeat.

Nevermind.

Still, we are clearly well on (and close to) victory. Well done everyone. Can't wait till I get the file.

I believe we have fiiled this thread up !!!

I will start a new one.

Yup,

Looks like we can go on forever!

OH, and has anyone noticed, now that the Smilies are conveniently displayed to your left while typing new messages, people are using a lot more of them?

I mean, at first you had to try and remember all those smiley codes, but not it's as easy as point and click!

Well, you won't see me overusing those smiley icons, that's for sure!

Heh, just having a bit O' fun.

Sean,
Great!
You and I shall once again take the reigns of the Greek Empire over the weekend!

If you finish you turns and want to send me the file before you post your summary, I promise not to post mine until I see yours posted.

Anyway, have fun; I think victory is pretty much certain at this point. I wonder if we'll be able to make it to the Diamond Age.

Glad to see you guys having fun with the new forums

Anyway...I will be away from 26th May to 1st June, so if my turn comes up you might want to skip me and go on to Octavius III this time.

Sure wish I could play the turn, but I'll be overseas, without a laptop or internet connection (unless the hotel has pcs for guests use...)...oh well *sigh*

Phonex,

Don't worry about it, there is no next turn...Berxpert has completed the game!! He has achieved what all other Apolytons before him have striven for, world domination!! He e-mailed everyone the last turn.

So to everyone well done!!!

We'll have to get the 'brains trust' together to plan the next one.

I'd like to see how fast a succession team can win with the Solaris Project, and how fast at all different map sizes (Gigantic should be fun...)

Anyone else want to try that? Or just attempt to beat the Game#1 record of 1766 (Did anyone check the number of points?)

Our score was 22070.

Modest but respectable I'd say. Though the scoring system makes little sense to me (I prefer the percentage system).

I don't know about trying to beat records etc...let us just reset the start conditions and let it evolve. Bigger map, maybe increased difficulty and # of civs...etc..etc.

I defenitley think the next game should be much harder. I mean look at how far ahead we were in the standings than the closest civ! Towards the end of the game there wasn't much challenge to it. Are we going to keep the same group of people and start another one? If we do think we should repost the names and email addy's of everyone.

Ok. To make a really hard game, I suggest a very islandy map, so expansion becomes quite difficult. The AI can survive surprisingly well at these settings too.

Any one had imagine that we were able to play exactly 3 turns each?

Here is the Final Report from Apolyton XXX: BerXpert III the Conqueror

1760 After the death of Apolyton XXIX the big three oil companies of the Greeks take the control of the government and set the General BerXpert to finish with all this period of loosing cities.

London, Cambridge, Navajo and Stuttgart taken in a quick assault, some casualities but there is no more English cities in their original continent.

1762 Winchester fall, there are a lot of revolts every where due the number of cities, martial law imposed.

1764 Some transports rush buy to get the last cities from English and North Americans at the North Pole.

1766 Hollywood and Internet finished while the Comanche city fall. North Americans exterminated

BerXpert drive his own tank on the way to take the last city of the English

1768 The world conqueror enter into the last city of the English without resistence. All foreign civilizations exterminated

After all the trops arrive to Athens, BerXpert said his victory message:

The World is OUR

AMAZING!

Congratulations everyone! We DID IT!

I never thought it would go that quick. 3 turns each. Exactly.
How about that.

I got the final game file but didn't play that last turn yet.

Well, I guess we might want to start another one, eh?
The difficulty should go up. We were only playing on Hard, perhaps a game on Impossible would be fun.

Anyway, let's combine the Newbie team with our team and start one great big game on a Gigantic Map.

I'll post the current active list of players on another thread.
Also, Redstar1 has been good enough to create a website for all of our threads, so check this out if you want a final summary of the whole game. (I forgot the link, but it's in the other thread somewhere).

Once again, great going to All APOLYTONS!
