Setting science at 20%
For variety, I decided to play by limiting myself to a science rate of 20% for the whole game. It turned out to be an advantage(almost). It was taking 38 turns per advance in monarchy, but the AI was always willing to trade anything they had. I built Great-library, but got very few techs from it. I set taxes to the max, and the gold let me bribe cities and get their techs. I wonder if a game at 10%, or even 0% is winnable.
