To REBEL RICK about your post
I have made the changes to the various .txt files you have suggested making. But now I start a new game I am getting a Global Pollution warning about sea levels rising. This message is happening when I begin a new game and keeps coming up every few turns.
Do you have any suggestions because its only happened now that I have used your changes ?

Thanks in advance

Very strange, i must say... i didn't see anything like this in my games after making those changes.

First suggestion is, review all the changes you did. There is allways the posibility of misstyping something. I hope you commented every line you changed, to make it easier to find.

May be someone else who saw any problem like this can suggest more.

I really find it very strange, because the variables that i suggested to change don't have nothing to do with poluttion.

Let us know if you find something out.

Good luck

Ok, boy, you're partially right. The stupid Global Warming message appeared to me too.

I found out it does when Maxplayers is greater than 0. So, let this variable =0 and you won't have any problem playing with more than 8 civs. (Numplayers >8)

I have found out what was causing the global pollution message that was popping up all the time.
I have put in each change you had suggested individually and then started a new game. All changes worked fine until I decided to put the Maxplayers and Number of players change in the userprofile.txt and proflie.txt. I seems I cannot change these past the default settings so I am unable to play the game with more than 8 civs and unfortunatley barbarian uprisings dont bring about any new civs
I am using version 1.0 not the new patch that was just released.
Do you know what the problem could be ?
And do you have any other changes you have made to the game to make it more challenging ?

thanks

I believe the courts are still deciding whether these are bugs or features. If they indended it to work then its a feature. I demand a recount, I think these are bugs

I have the same problem because I like to play 32 players and still get some stuff done around the house while I wait. I think it is because of the increased production early in the game. The computer thinks that a few civilizations are producing a great deal of polution instead of many civ's producing only a little.
Just my theory.
Ioannes.
