Well, so far for my mod (I've been working on city lists for quite a while already - I originally planned on releasing it as an add-on for the MedMod), I've been aiming for 50 cities per civ myself, with some civs that's hard enough as it is (Benin, Tibet, Polynesia (no, I don't want Island names, I want city names )).

I already have a fair number of lists, some of which quite different from what you'll find in this thread: Nordicus's list are full of errors and can't be copied blindly in my experience, my Dutch city list has been replaced by a much, much better (one that was actually made by Dutch historians rather than silly old me) and all my lists are actually based on the historic importance of cities, not on present-day population size (like some with civs from at least the MedMod) or randomly (Activision's lists often make no sense whatsoever), etc...
I'll see if I can post what I have later, it's currently spread out over dozens of text files and such.

Sorry but I am off line at home right now. I picked up a few bad clusters, probably due to the short power cuts I keep getting. Well this is what you get when you live in the middle of a Thai jungle. So now got to get those bad clusters repaired, luckily hard drive is still under guarantee.
