I need some sound advice...
Anyone having trouble putting CTP sounds in CTP2?? I've added some CTP units into my personal mod but I'm having problems getting the accompanying sounds to play. The units/sprites work fine but I get no sound (like null.wav) when they should be using a CTP wav file. I followed the directions in Hexagonian's manual and other info on these forums. I used unzfs.exe to pull all the wav files out of the CTP zfs files and put the appropriate ones in ctp2.../default/sound/. I then made an entry in units.txt like "Unload SOUND_ID_PARATRANSPORT_UNLOAD" and then put a line in sounds.txt (SOUND_ID_PARATRANSPORT_UNLOAD "GUWX02.WAV"). GUWX02.wav is in default/sound/ but no sound occurs. None of the CTP wav files play when they should.

I even duped the files in /English/sound/ for good measure. No go. Any ideas?? I CANNOT have the Warrior unit w/o him deadpanning "Blood Shall Run." It just ain't right!

I've recently been batting my head against the wall trying to set up sounds for about 25 units in ctp. I think the problems may be related. What I'm finding is that I have to edit the sample rates of the .wav files I'm trying to employ, and convert them to a somewhat lesser sample rate quality, sometimes it works well, somtimes not.... Check the sample rates of the .wav files you're trying to replace, and the properties of the .wav's you're trying to replace them with. I'm not editing ctp2 sounds at the moment, still too busy making more work for myself in ctp.But I hope this helps a little.

Figured it out... Apparently I missed the fact that you CANNOT put the WAV files in your scenario subdirectory. They must be put in the sound subdirectories of the main game. All seems to work fine now.
