Back to the future...III
I started a new game in civ 2. Build my first city. And then I start wondering: where's by borders, what's my culuture points like, do I have enough Iron to make some Legions....

I already feel like civ 2 is [gulp] shallow

I agree with you man! Now that we are talking about CIV3 and all the cool things in it Civ2 and the CTP series seem so... like u said, shallow!!! All the new stuff like resources and cultural stuff is making CIV3 seem more and more like the epic civ game we have all been waiting for!! One in which you actually care whether your citizens live or die! Ok, I gotta settle down, because the more I talk about it the more I want to play it!!! AHHHHHHH!!! I'm going insane!!!

I wonder how Civ III will compare to SMAC.

SMAC was full of little random events that had varying interactions with you faction depending on base facilities and social enginiering. Also SMAC did allow for some robust trading.
