Alpha Centauri Scenarios - can they have more than 8 factions?
Is it possible to have more than 7 Factions in a scenario?

If so, heres a cool idea for a scenario - unfortunatly i am too lazy to make it myself but who knows... if no scenario making people are up for it then I will have no choice.

It will have all 14 factions (if this is possible) - the original and the Alien Crossfire Factions. Scenario will be based on the Birth of the New Human Factions of the data disc. It is how the Alien Crossfire game should have been.

Scenario Starts with the 8 original factions, all with about 8 cities - established on the planet with some infrastructure, and the new human factions will have 1 city, 2 colony pods, plenty of energy, and lots of military units to help factions to establish themselves. Some of the original factions will be in a state of war with their breakaway faction - ie Free Drones vs Hive. The new factions will be on a state of technological parity with their more established original faction big brother.

The orignal faction/new faction status basically breaks down to this:

1) Data Angels broke off from the UN - truce status, no long term animosity.
2) Free Drones broke off from Yang - war status, long term animosity
3) Cybernetic Conscious breaks off from University - peace treaty, ambivalent.
4) Pirates break off from Spartans - war status, no long term animosity.
5) Cult of Planet breaks off from Gaia - truce status, long term animosity, also - animosity with the Believers

20 turns into the game, the aliens can land (IF this can be Scripted into the game otherwise it may be best to leave Aliens out of it) and they can have some military units and energy to help them establish - otherwise the original factions could catch them while they are weak.

An enlarged Alpha Centauri map would also work best with such a scenario - i think that 20 percent larger would be just right. If no such map already exists (please tell me if it does) i will have to try and make one myself (if i ever actually get round to creating such a scenario)

The scenario pretty much breaks to this:

1) Original Factions - established but stagnant - need a bit more work on infrastructure to get them going again.
2) New Human Factions - Lots of growth potential and enough military units to hold off any immediate attacks from their more established 'original factions' neighbour.
3) Aliens - toughest factions once they get going. Caretakers are natural ally with Cult of Planet.

So, if any scenario makers are reading - hows my idea? If your thinking of making a scenario please consider adopting this, otherwise i'll have to try make it and it probably wont be that good then I guess it all depends really on whether u can have more than 7 factions as well.

Unfortunately you can't have more than 7 factions and the worms.

Vargas920, try reading the official story for Alien Crossfire, if you'd bother . It can be found at http://www.aliencrossfire.com (under the downloads/story section)
