Bronze Deposits? There ARE NO SUCH THINGS IN REAL LIFE!
I've seen references to BRONZE being one of the resources and BRONZE DEPOSITS being sited as a needed resource.

But IN REAL LIFE, there IS NO SUCH THING AS BRONZE DEPOSITS!

BRONZE is an ALLOY of COPPER and TIN.

So, I hope the underlying resources needed to produce BRONZE are COPPER and TIN, not "BRONZE DEPOSITS"!

Firaxis, what say you?

Very good. This was already mentioned in the "Gotta Get Them Bronze Deposits" thread.

Oops, and here I've been planning to site my first city next to a nice rich bronze deposit...

Why not go one step further and have automobile/tank/airplane deposits?

Money growing on trees?

Okay, enough on this, I personally don't mind bronze deposits, its simplifies the game resource system. Besides, when you have spice resources, what kinds of spice are they, there's a ton of varieties. Knit-picking each resource to base elements takes away part of the fun of the idea of civ by making it too much of a spreadsheet game. So what if the resource isn't totally realistic? Is it that important? Besides, if the resource system is being limited to 8 luxuries and 8 production resources, some shortcuts need to be made for simplicity. This is one I personally don't mind.

I really don't think bronze is a resource.

This appears to be rampant speculation on the previewer's part.

Now, if you'll excuse me I have to go clean these irritating "bronze deposits" off my shoes...

I am with Serapis on this one. You have to make some simplifications along the way. There are a few types of coal, maybe we should include all of them. While we are at it, perhaps we need to specify what kind of fission reactors to be built in a city. Should salt mines be included? What about platinum and titanium?

Bronze deposit does sound silly, copper will do.

Salt mines should definetly be included. Historically salt was more traded than any of the spices!

Not to mention the satisfaction you get forcing your overtaxed population into the salt mines

Just a thought, don't copper and tin usually appear in similar locations? IIRC, both are found as deposits on river beds and the like, so if you have both in one place than you might as well assume you have actual bronze.

I suppose so, but on none of the maps have I seen bronze deposits. Iron, Gold, Coal, Oil, yes, but no bronze.

Yeah chowlett, I would presume their proximity would have been one of their reasons for it's serendipitous discovery. So I suppose when it says 'Bronze resources', you should assume there is an abundance of copper and tin on that square...

Yes, I propose a new city improvement, the Salt Mine. Acts like a "brood pit" from SMAC!
