help i can't name tribes
I'm new to creating scenarios, I don't seem to be able to change the tribe names. In the tribe box where you can edit such things it only lets me at the commodities, titles and one other. What's happened to the city names and tribe name. I have civ2 gold 1.1.1 (mac) and it has a screenshot of the window in the manual but it doesn't shoe tribe name either even though it says it does. Am I just stupid?

Yay, a fellow mac scenario producer (if you want lotse of people to play your scenario make sure to convert it to PC as well, plus you get lots of more playtesters that way) while editing in the scenario chose edit king (under the cheat menu) to change the name.
And include a cities.txt in your scenario folder which you've edited for your scenario for city names.
Anything else?

Besides the obvious(.gif .wav) what is done to make it pc playable?
Do I need to make all pc version font sizes for example?

Depends, in the text files odd letters like 'ä' needs to be changed to to PC equivalent (something like ‰ I think) and odd chars in city names are perhaps best changed by a PC user if you ask nice

You also need to change the "quit" dialogue in the game.txt (just change it for the one that you normally replace in a pc game.txt).

There might be some other stuff as well that I don't recall right now.

You will need to remove a line in the labels.txt to allow PC users whit "Ultimate Civ II" (PC MGE users will be able to use our labels files right off) to use the scenario.
