How can I stay in Modern Age longer?
You know, people, I like playing with Battleships, Tanks, Bombers very much, but I feel CTP2's modern age is too short.

AI quickly passes it and gets things like an ugly fish --- Morey Stricker, which bites my Nuke Sub one by one easily, and big blue spider thing smashs my Tanks in the field and grabs my Stealth Fighters flying pass it.

I am not conservative to play with these 'advanced animals/insects', but I would like to stay in Modern Age for longer. I like the history, WWII, and modern wars, and I know that's what I can imaging and plot a war in my head, like grouping a Tank Division, Air-Bombing enemy troop before attacking them from field.

I don't know if there is an easy fix to stretch Modern Age, like make some advances much harder to get (10, 20 times cost, etc.), so the Genetic Age will come slower.

Please shed some light

Look at the tech tree and figure out where you want the Modern Age to start, and what advances you want to include.

Figure out how many turns it normally takes to get an advance in the Modern Age. If it takes you 10 turn per in your games, then you have a starting point...

Go into Advances.txt and look for the numbers that corresponds to the cost needed - if you want your advances to take 40 turns per, then multiply that number by 4.

It will take about 1/2 hour with a calculator, tops - but its an easy way to extend the period of time you want to play in.

You can also boost the costs of City Improvements to make it a little harder to build up your infrastructure, or do the opposite to slow down the build time and lessen the effects of science buildings.

And you can reduce the costs of Modern units to make it so you can build more.

Hope this helps.
