Poll - Which civs will fill the last empty slots in CivIII?
So who will it be? Aztecs? Babylonians? Persians? Spanish? Mongols??? Let us know what you think.

If anyone has any proof that one of these is in, please, don't keep it to yourself!

The Sapnairds, because they were a colonial superpower and they are European The Mongols I doubt, same with the Babylonians. The Persians and the Aztecs both have an equal opportunity, but I think reasons mentioned above tip the scales for Spain. Besides, there's a Spanish CivII forum! Sid owes it to them

I would prefer to vote twice, one for Spain and one for the Aztecs...but I chose Spain, because they (After what I learned in History lesson ) destroyed the Aztecs, but on the other hand, for a while those Aztecs where magnificent

Spanish
The spanish did not destroy the aztecs. They enlisted the aid of other native american powers who were bitter at the aztecs. Then the spanish used those native americans to achieve their aims. And It would have been much more difficult for the Spanish to utterly defeat the aztecs if their european diseases had not been so potent. I don't care about how many ancient muskets you have, against such overwhelming numbers, that far from home, without fast reinforcements, sorry, it would have been so hard the spanish couln't have done it at that time. It was the rival native americans, and the diseases that defeated the aztecs.

NO WAY, the celts does not belong into Civ, and America (USA) is one of the most important nations today, so they really need to be in

Actually, it looks like (not 100%, though) Aztecs and Mongols are there.

Any game about civilization that forgets to put in the Spanish, can't truly be called a game of civilization. The Spanish have been one of the most important countries thoughtout history.

Plus, name one game like Civ that doesn't have Spain?

My other votes go to Aztecs and Persian. Maybe Bab instead.

If the aztecs are not in, I won't buy the game (I'll just copy it then )

But I'm 100% sure that they're in. The city of Ehcatepec I've seen in a screenshot was a lousy ****hole, so it's for sure no extra city.

I personally think we'll wind up with Aztecs, Persians, and either Spanish or Babylonians, though my pics would be Persia, babylon and Spain. (Sorry Aztec fans).

I think it's deeply ignorant if there isn't at least one major precolumbian civilization of either aztecs mayans or inca (though of course I prefer the aztecs) while having Iroquois
That would really make me

Alexander,
I don't know what the purpose of this thread was, to find out which civ is in or which civ people want to be in, but people seem to be voting which civ they want to be in. At the moment of posting the Spanish have the most votes, while the evidence that they'll be in is the weakest of all listed civs (though the Mongol evidence is pretty weak as well). All we have is a single city name (Salamanca), but that name is at the same time the name of an Iroquois city (in the state New York IIRC).

I would prefer the Aztecs and I know there is very little evidence of Spain being in the game, but I think Firaxis would be pretty foolish not to include the Spanish.

I think the Spanish will be in... not because I want them to be in, but I feel (for the reasons listed above) that they are the best candidate to be included.

Persians are a not-too-distant second.. but since we only get one vote...

It looks like these civs will be included:

Americans, Aztecs, Babylonians, Chinese, Egyptians, English, French, German, Greeks, Indians, Iroquois, Japanese, Persians, Romans, Russians, Zulus.

I would really like to see the Celts and Vikings back, and a few others (Khmers, Polynesians, Incas, Bantus) and the exclusion of the Americans, but it seems that the 16 above are going to be the choices.

I agree. Now it's up to someone to create the perfect custom Spaniard add-on. Who's up for animating Philip II? Yay!
