Yes, Paiktis, if Firaxis won't listen to us here, we're already two . But I trust they will come here, and voice their opinion.

Make that three!

On 11th July I posted on the system requirements thread:
Quote:
It's great to see that you are all happy, but I'm not! My monitor, despite being 14", only supports up to a 800 x 600 resolution!
I have to demand a support for 800x600! How can I explain to my parents that I need a new monitor just to play a game?!? After all, a monitor is just a monitor! I didn't play Railroad Tycoon II because of that, but I can live with that.
But not without CIV III!!!

Give me support for 800x600!

Pretty please?
Almost a month has past, but I'm glad to see that I'm not the only one that needs a 800x600 resolution to play the game.

On the release date thread I posted
Quote:
I won't be enjoying the beauty of the game unless I have a 1024x768 resolution? Hey, it's me who has to live with it, not you! And if you didn't worry about it on SMAC, please don't start it now...
one day before I posted:
Quote:
Do you know what this means to me? It means that I need to upgrade my video card and monitor! Which means, in other words, that it's better for me to buy a new PC to replace my oldie AMD K6-2 with 64 MB RAM. Which means that I have to buy a new PC with my own money, which will only happen around April 2002! Man, Civ 3 only in April?!?

Life is so cruel!
Damn resolution... What's wrong with 800x600?
So, I can wait some more time for an answer from Firaxis, but I just posted these posts to express my difficulty to get a 1024x728 resolution.

Excellent, we're three now! Firaxis, hold on, and come here.

I'd like the option of 800 x 600

I have a big 17" monitor, at work and at home. So tough titty all of you who aren't adequately endowed with screensize

Can I have the other To_Serve_Man? I'll pay double what you paid! Until then, I'm stuck with my 17 inch Trinitron

Note: Both this post and the one after it belong after To_Serve_Man's post.

LOL! Don't you just love it when that happens? It's amazing how I knew about that monitor before you posted....

I can't stand to have my screen that big! The Icons are SO big! My computer is at 1280 by 1024. Two clicks higher than 1024 by 768. I have a 21inch monitor (its a big sucker). I actually have two of them... i'm not bragging, it was a 'right place, right time' situtation cause both monitors cost $3! but no hard feelings right?

Activity of Firaxians at the forums has increased, so here I put on a big loud bump.

Solver, stop whining. I too had a monitor and a PC that was not good enough. But I bought a Pentium4 with 19 inch monitor.

Nothing can stop me to play civ3!

So I suggest you do the same if you like the civ series.

If not, what are you doing here?

Campmajor, since you don't seem to regard money as so much of an issue, perhaps you could purchase a Pentium 4 with 19 inch monitor for everyone up here?

Well, actually I have nothing to eat for the next couple of months and can barely pay my mortgage...

But being able to play civ3 is worth it!
