Release
Just a questions for those who aren't American.

I've read that Civ III was supposed to be released in october. But it only concerns the United States, and perhaps England.
When it comes to the other countries release date, no information seems to be available. Does someone know something about that topic ?

I'm french, so I would like to know the answer of this question for France. However, I'm sure people from all around the world, such as other European or Japanese, would like to know when they can find Civ 3 at their favourite retailer.

Thanks a lot,

Yay, a French poster, you are the holy grail of Apolyton (at least in my eyes )

Well you may be OK, because the publisher, Infogrames, is a French company, so you never know, you may get the game before everyone else

SMAC was released first in the Asia/Pacific region, then in the US, then after about a week simultaneously accross Europe, IIRC. Of course, that was EA and not Infogrames.

I hope that I, as someone living in Germany, don't have to wait too long for the game. I would hate to see you guys discussing about the game without being able to participate myself... also, I intend to be ion one of the first MP games... and I'm sure, the first one will take place in the night after the release day

really, there arwe such sick people here

Why don't you just purchase it off of Amazon.com or some other software company on the internet? I mean it may take a couple of days, but isn't that better than waiting for several months for it to be released in your country?

I would seriously resent it if there was a considerable time delay between US and European release. There should be parity.

Although there has been a CD I purchased fairly recently and although it was by a US group, it was actually released in Europe a week before the US

Well, Europe got Operation Flashpoint first, but listening to the developer, it sounds like Europe was just used as paid beta group for the N. American release.

I'm French. So (oh marvellous !) I speak French. If I can understand and write in English, that's not my mother tongue. Mind you, I'd rather listen my science advisor in French than in English. As a consequence, I am compelled to wait for the french version.
