Trade & other continents
Does any little offshore island with a different loc number count as another continent (same civ) and give enhanced trade?

My results suggest "Yes" but airport may be colouring the figures.

Yep, if the continent number of the destination is different from the continent where the caravan building city is located, then it counts as 'intercontinental' trade, the size of the continent doesnt matter.

Yes, it does! Tinker around in cheat mode, you'll see they reap a healthy bonus, just as if they were on a large continent. What is expecially nice about the really small ones (<5 squares) is that the city will definitely be using ocean squares. This means more arrows, and a bigger return for you.

Would it still count as another continent if it had that little canal of water (anti-isthmus?) going between them that the ships can pass through, but units can also walk over?

ps - where do you find the continent number?

Right click on a square on the continent or lake/sea you want to find the number for - the map co-ordinates show 3 numbers, x co-ord, y co-ord, and continent number, so for example (36,12)2, 2 being the continent number.

As far as I've seen, if a unit can pass over then it's on the same continent.
