Is it just me, or is the newspaper back?
I think this might be too good to be true, but from the newspaper in the new Egyptian Desktop screen, it looks like it is part of Civ3?

pft... what was I thinking.. Firaxis would never make Civ3 THAT good

I believe that Dan confirmed in one thread that the newspaper is back.

Couldn't find the thread.

Yeah, I heard the samething. I never played Civ1 so what exactly is the newspaper? I think I have a good idea of what it is (the name kind of gives it away) but I may be wrong.

On the other hand, is it really so difficult simply to accept everything that one has been brought up on and that has gradually struck deep roots – what is considered truth in the circle of moreover, really comforts and elevates man? Is that more difficult than to strike new paths, fighting the habitual, experiencing the insecurity of independence and the frequent wavering of one’s feelings and even one’s conscience, proceeding often without any consolation, but ever with the eternal goal of the true, the beautiful, and the good? - F.N.

Excellent! I love things like this! Just adds to the role-playing part of CIV 3!

In Civ1 the newspaper popped up on its own to announce stuff ("Civil Disorder in Memphis, Mayor Flees in Panic" "Dictator Shadowlord Announces Retirement in 20 Years")

It'll be just like in Civ1, only in Civ3 it spins into view while playing Batman music. Deetle-leetle Deetle-leetle DEE!
