Can air units still protect ground units from enemy ground units
In civ1,2, and smac, you can protect ground units from being attacked by other ground units by placing an air unit into the same stack. This is a major annoyance in multiplayer games as you could move entire stacks of units next to an enemy city this way without fear of them being attacked by enemy ground units. And it was a horrible exploit of the computer AI.

But this is something I have never understood. Why cant you attack enemy ground units that have an air unit in the same stack? The ground combat should completely ignore the air units unless the attacking ground unit has air superiority (so it can attack air units).

Please fix this.
