You guys have got to read this.
This is an excellent story that I found today. Anyone that has an interest in the Korean War and or holds veterans in the highest regard like I do will enjoy this.

So, you hold veterans in the highest regard, because they shoot defenseless prisoners on suspicion? That seems to be the message of this little atrocity of a story. This is Scenario League. I suggest you take your war crimes stories over to OT.

I am sorry for you. I believe that you are missing the point of this story. Most of the soldiers in Korea were either drafted or National gaurd units. They were sent thousands of miles away from their homes and loved ones to fight a war against an enemy that could be anyone. The way I see it is that he was not that man before he went over there. This is the sacrifice that he made to defend another countries way of life.

If he would have been able to talk the officer into letting them keep the prisoner, the prisoner would have suffered a more grusome fate at the hands of ROK troops. If the officer had taken him then there would be two dead U.S. soldiers and an armed troop behind enemy lines. He could have walked up to the next check point and taken out several of our boys.

The soldier in the story weighed his options and considered the evidance and made the choice he felt he had to make. It was not a pretty war, hell war never is. The fact that the soldier is telling this story shows that he is probably bothered and troubled by the decision that he was forced to make. When he said of how he checked every detail then remembered that he never checked the inscription on the ring. He almost fell over right there. He knew that he had acted prematurely and he knew then that there was a doubt.

We had already lost too many boys over there. The prisoner had some connection to the massacre of the 34th infantary. Chances were that if he got away from the officer it would result in even more American boys being killed! Then again maybe you are okay with that. I for one am not, I have family who served in Korea. My grandfather was in the Airforce in Korea. It could have easily been his wedding ring at some other checkpoint if the NK was allowed to leave. I also have several friends serving in the military right now and if I was fit I would be signed up too.

As this thread promotes the murder of bound civilian captives and the story is completely racist,

What if it's in gook? Even in English I ain't real sure. It could mean almost anything if it's in gook !
I'm asking the moderator to close this thread. People in OT may have the patience to debate with the likes of you, but I don't.

Case closed.
