Question About Mike's Under Fundy
I've never tried this as I seldom use the Fundamentalist gogernmnet, but does the Fundy government get a "cathedral tythe" from Michelangelo's Chapel? If so, this would be a BIG boost in an ICS game that goes fundy.

Aha! In an ICS game that could add up to a lot of gold! Have any strategies been built around this fact? I think I'll try this out next game, ICS, Michelangelo's (monotheism), SOL (democracy) -> Fundamentalism, then a quick conquer with vet Crusaders. Sound doable? Other approaches?

Does JSB give tythes in Fundamentalism?

Looks like yes! JSB decreases the # of unhappy by 2 in every friendly city, and under fundy, "Improvements that normally unhappy citizens to content citizens produce tythes...", so it makes sense. I thought Mike's might, but I hadn't thought of JSB until SG(2) mentioned it.

Thanks SG!

Yup, I have successfully utilized this strategy. With that money I either (rush)build infrastructure or speed up unit production.

John - its a fun game! There are many variations - if you want to be mega rich build JSB as well. I like to have Steam Engine on larger maps before the low Fundy science kicks in - but a few (or more well placed caravans keeps the research rolling and further swells the treasury.

Don't forget the poor man's version - Temple + Oracle - can have a very short life, but is sweet while it lasts ...
Another feature not mentioned above, not only do the happy wonders pay well in fundy they often leave a route open to return to a representative government - should anyone ever want to do such a thing

[ps added in edit: yes I know that Theology is a prereq for 'hard' Fundy - but I generally try for Demo, SoL and 'soft' Fundy]

And you can add Cure for Cancer, too.
7 gold per city each turn ! And as in fundy there is no revolt, you can have huge cities and maximize huge trade lines. If you have the Statue of Liberty you can grow with WLTPD for a few turns at 100% luxuries and then switch back to Fundy.
I think it's one of the most unbalanced feature of the game. It's too powerful the gold you can get. And as you know, with gold you can get everything.
In gigamaps I can play a over 30 cities perfectionnist style and then bribe the whole world !

Cure for Cancer generates tithes? I'm pretty sure HG doesn't because you do get the one happy person per city and three in the wonder city.

MC and JSB are a potent combo in Fundy. Every city you build generates a minimum of 6 gold per turn. Great for the ICS'er in you.
