Split the mapscreen
In CivNet I often play with two maps, one large for my units and a small for the enemy units. That way you could focus on your units without losing track of the enemy units, and that was really useful in simultaneous games. Now, I doubt that Civ3 include this as it uses a Full screen engine, and if they haven't made big changes to how the full screen engine works is it will not have the ability to split the mainmap in two maps. That is sad, as it would be good for simultaneous multiplayergames, and if Firaxis decide to wait with the shipment of multiplayer I hope that they will add this feature to the game as well (if not already in).
It is possible to make a splitted screen in fullscreen as well. I hope that Firaxis will include it in an addon or in later games.

There is a small ability that they have the ability to do this, but I doubt it.
