Low Gravity Home Base
In my current MOO2 game, I'm playing for the first time as Psilon, and have a Low G home planet. Naturally, I moved quickly to obtaijavascript:smilie('')n the Gravity Generator tech, only to find that the device is offered for all other planets (even those with normal gravity) except the planet where I need it the most. Is this normal or a problem with my program?

Whoops, sorry about the extra smily! Hope you can read it - my intent is to say I moved quickly to the Gravity Generator text.

euhmmm, if I understand what you mean ( I'm not sure ) by "the planet where I need it the most": if it is your homeworld as I think, then it is naturally lowG if starting as Psilon - thus no penalty. You need to build the Grav Gen "only" on normal and heavy G planets, thus that facility should not be available for every lowG planet where you have no penalty since playing as Psilon. Then you must build it on normal planets because of a -25% penalty.

To Master Marcus -

Thank you. Until this recent game, I've always played Human or Custom races, never Psilon, so I guess I didn't realize that about Psilons! I feel so silly! Anyway, your answer makes alot of sense; I sure gave away quite a bit of advantage until now, but can still recover.javascript:smilie('')

you're welcome . With some practice, the Psilons or any custom with the lowG "ability" are highly playable even without building the Grav Gen on normal planets. Just avoid colonizing heavyG at the beginning.

I almost always take lowG and have little trouble with it. You can colonize heavyG planets early, just don't expect them to be real productive until you get the gravity generator. It doesn't take very long to get that tech either, which is why I almost always take that as a negative.

I always take the Low-G disadvantage when I create my own custom race. It's not seriously problemetic, unless you colonise heavy-G poor planets and such

I use Low G as well and never give it a thought. When I get the generator I put them where ever they can go. At hard level, you just grab planets that you can hold regardless of the gravity. Larger and mineral rich is best.

One of the funny things about MoO 2 is you can have huge planets that are low gravity.

It's a bit of a
