Global SDI possible?
The SDI stops any nuclear weapons from detonating within three squares of the city it is built in.
Is there any way that i can extend the range that an SDI works to more than 3 squares, possibly to make a global SDI with a range that prevents all nuclear weapons from detonating around the world.
PS I dont want to get rid of nuclear weapons so no suggestions about making nuclear missiles obselete or taking them out of the rules.txt please

Getting rid of them is the exact same thing as stopping them from detonating. Or just make the Manhatten Project obsolete, then civs can't build them anymore.

Oh? It should at least make it so that you can't build the nukes anymore. maybe that's a bug. What were you refering to Leo?

Even though Manhattan is set to go obsolete, it doesn't. No matter whether it is built before or after it goes obsolete.

What about Apollo Program? Can it be made obsolete so the game is changed to Bloodlust?

That sucks. I just assumed it would. So much for the event I was planning on using. I haven't tried the Appollo thing, but seeing as how you're trying to make a point, I'll take it that you can't do that either. Maybe there's a way to hack the game. Maybe not.

The Appollo project has two benifits. 1. Reveals the entire map 2. Allows spaceships to be build. I don't know if you can disable the first benifit, but about the econd you can do something. Just make sure to set all spaceship components to prequisit "NO". This way nobody can build them, no matter what.

I tried to use a "Spacelock" tech that could be researched to end the space race by making Apollo obsolete, but I failed.

About Global SDI:
Try to make a tech which makes nukes obsolete, and which has a great AI value. Then research it, and offer a tech to all your enemies. They will choose this tech, and will not be able to build nukes.

I think you've all misunderstood my question.
I want for one city's SDI to cover (within reason) the cities around it (up to within about 6 squares) so that, when i capture a city that is more than 3 squares away from one of my established cities (with SDI) it doesn't get immediatly nuked and taken back (it takes AT LEAST one turn to buy the SDI to protect the newly captured city)

The Womans Suffrage Wonder allows every city you have to act as if it has a police station. Is there any way to edit a wonder so that it provides SDI defence for all your cities? Obviously this still would n't stop captured cities being retaken, I just want to know if it is possible?
