Getting Civ2gold to recognize .gifs ...
I've been trying to create a Civ2gold scenario(not sure if it makes it any different from Civ2classic). I've attempted to change the national colors of the nations by changing the colors of the flags in the cities.gif file, but every time I do so the program crashes when I try to load the scenario.
I've narrowed down the possible factors
that are crashing the program to the two programs I am using to edit the *.gifs, Microsoft Photo Editor and Microsoft Paint. It appears that both programs do something to the gifs after they save them that make them unreadable to Civ2gold. Would anybody happen to know any programs that make valid gif files for Civ2?

Can be downloaded from the following website: http://www.jasc.com/psp.html

You have to make sure the GIF's are of the type 87a (non-interlaced). Otherwise they won't work.
