Yeah, but this cover probably means Civ3 will come in a DVD-case. So unless that DVD-case is included in a normal box, it means no real manual!

Nice art. I don't know where you get the DvD idea from. The pics are almost identical in size. Not including a manual in one version would be a very bizarre choice - far more so than using different cover art which happens a lot.

If that came from tothegame.com, I wouldn't trust it. The "new" screenshots have already be refuted by Dan. By the way, Amazon.co.uk shows the same box art as the US version.

I have seen that pic before, don't remember where though. (I live in US btw, so not around here)

And it is common for games to have different cover art for distribution in different regions (along with differences in pricing ). Its all about marketability.

Actually I am sure that this is an old picture for the case, and has been replaced by the one shown as the US one since...

In that case, the box art's just getting lamer and lamer. Civ1's was vibrant, but it's descendents' just getting worse and worse.

Wasn't it pretty monochrome? An image of a pharoah's head "buried" underneath a background of a city skyline?

It may habe had some colour but I don't remember it as such.

Oh please

you guys would buy civ3 if it was wrapped in used tampons and propholactics. The Box is irrelevent and will only be used for catching dust after opening it.

I've never bought a game with different art from the US version here in the UK, and the European versions I've seen have the same art just different lettering.
