Please help beginner with new units
I am trying to add new units and my game crashes upon start up? I am using PSP 3.11 and copying the new unit and pasting it into the Units.gif file and saving under 87a noninterlaced format and not saving transparency? The guides I have found around the net don't really help for this situation. I would appreciate any help, I have a good idea for a series of scenarios.
Thanks!

An important thing is that you have to use the civ2 colour palette. If you've made an image without this palette, first save the palette from an original image and then load the palette in your new image. The image may be altered.

Thanks Pano, the units I am trying to add are from the net (scenario sites, etc) they look like the colors are correct, do you know what type of alterations need to be made for most of the units out there on the net. I can use units that you can download individually with the editor, but the ones that come on a large sheet I can't seem to copy one and pasted into somewhere else. I am using the box outline tool in PSP and enclosing the unit and then copying.
Like I said I am new at this, thanks for your help and patience.

Usually, the units you found on the net have the right palette, you just have to paste it in the file Rules.gif (don't forget to make a copy of this file first!). If it's a large sheet, you have to copy units one after another (with PSP you've to select a zone and then click Copy). I have the version 6.1 and I don't know your version but it should be the same way.

Thanks guys, I downloaded the newer version of PSP, I think its 6.0 and it worked just fine. There must have been something wrong with my copy of 3.11. I read where someone else had the same problem so I tried it and it worked. Thanks again for trying.
