Civilization 2.5
A question for all you scenario designers...

You obviously put much effort in scenario design, and you some of you are by now very familiar with all technical aspects of the game. Also there must be some programmers.

So now that we know that civIII is far, far away in 2001, has anyone thought to actually rewrite civ2? My programming expirience is very modest, but I cannot see any great problems in doing that. In my opinion the difficult things in civ2 to program were multiplaying and graphics.

What do you think?

Hmmm...I belief there was once (may still be) a project, if I remember right, lead by mr. temba, to write a civ2-like program. Features such as more civs were discussed...

I don't know what became of it, and, for all I know, it might still be in the works.

I found a civ-clone a while back, in Pascal, that was basically someone's attempt to write a sequel, before civ2 cam out...

Anyway, if you succeed in finding out anything about this, or decide to start a new project on this, I'd love to get involved...
I have some experience with Pascal and BASIC, and learning C/C++...
