You are so anti-america that having a conversation with you would be poinless. You may or maynot feel you are an enemy of the United States, I don't care either way. However if I still worked for the Goverment I would turn over your e-mail address to my bosses and what ever happen, happens.

I have just read the Avault review - and there are some slight worrying niggles amoungst the positive feedback - However and this is a big however - it is only one review.

sooo when I can next pull myself away from work I'll read the others. This will either dampen or feed my enthusiasm - but..

I want Apolyton members opinions, i.e. from those who love the Civ series and have actually played the game - I'm not sure Yin fits into that catagorie - with him the glass is not even 1/2 empty - he didn't get a drink because he missed the bus, had a row with the landlord and got barred from the pub.

...but what I really REALLY want is to get my hands on a copy of the game...come on the 16th

Very nice quote

But i agree with you, ill wait for reviews from competent players before making a judgement on Civ 3.

Same here! I take those reviews with a huge grain of salt because it comes from people who are mainly fans of FPS and RTS games. It's been a very long time that we've had a quality TBS game, so I'm looking forward to CIV3 and I'm sure it will be fine.

Put it this way, if I don't like CIV3, I'm not a fan of the genre. ...but I know that won't happen.

BTW, If I get my copy today, I'll be posting everything you'd want to know about CIV3, plus screenshots! It's still really early here, so I don't imagine I'll get the game until late today, or even tomorrow (I live in Canada so we get games one day later than the Yanks.)

A small price to pay for not living in America.

When you were writing your thread at about 9 AM (GMT),
didn't you ever think that it might be night in US?

The Canadians are more likely to be annoyed by this sentence than us. Can you figure out why?

Oh yes .... but I couldn't stand it any longer..

Anyway .... it is now 1126hrs on the east coast, so I would expect our American Apolyton collegues to have been camping outside their software vendors and to have recieved their copies by now.

..but no posts on this thread yet! Imran is probably asleep now as he spent most of last night awake!

Sooo I can assume that they must all be playing it now instead of posting ---- the bast@rds !!

Well, most of us have jobs! So it would be a bit difficult for us to have already gone to the store, purchased Civ3, installed it, and played it.

Not to mention, Apolyton's having some trouble under the current heavy load, which makes feedback a bit tricky...

Not if you were on Annual leave...sheesh.....some people have no commitment

Anyway...30th October should be a National Holiday in the US ... that's extremely poor planning on your behalf.

yes it is a bit of a pain...better that Apolyton is popular than unpopular though.

Jason, could you tell us somthing about
the way the game starts, it's intro
(I know it's downloadable, but with
a modem it's slow as what) and
the menus before loading or starting
a game session. And first impression
would be nice too.

I'd love to "bugger off" right now, but I'm at work right now, and I'm not sure that the Refugee Board (the place where I work) would appreciate me simulating forced labour on any of my citizens.

You'd be surprised at how few people have contacted me about that "information". What's with you Europeans? Don't you want "info"?

At the moment, I'm at work, and I haven't played the game yet, but tomorrow, I'll be posting like a madman, and I'll answer any questions that come my way, particularly that of my "first impressions".
