I dont know if there is one, but I would guess population is determined by adding all cities individual populations together

Really?

What I meant is whether the cities gain population like in civ 2 (+10,000 for size 1, +20,000 for size 2, etc.), or whether it is now proportional (eg. +10,000 for each size).
