Limited Edition is available to UK!
Despite being in the UK, it is possible to get the limited edition over here.

I ordered it from www.gamestop.com a few days ago, and it is now sitting in a UPS depot in Louisville, KY.

So, if you've been screwed over by Amazon, and really want the LE, take a look at gamestop - don't think they were any more expensive or anything either.

"Delivered in 3 to 5 Business Days. Remote locations may take longer."

I'll believe it when I see it though!

It'll probably get help up in customs for 3 weeks, as they systematically x-ray / prize open / ransack / irradiate this suspicious looking metal tin that has been shipped from the local area of All Things Anthrax.

They quote 3-5 business days, plus upto 24 hours processing time.

Mine shipped yesterday, and UPS expect it to arrive on Monday.

Good grief! And I have sent a SWIFT cheque to Amazon.com.
Stupid me who thought that preordering would guarentee
me a fast shipment.

Did you get a shipping confirmation? I haven't heard anything since the order confirmation on Friday...

Yes, I did get a shipping confirmation.
My LE is currently in East Midlands (airport, I assume), and has unfortunatly attracted the attentions of Customs, so I'm expecting an additional bill soon.

Might be worth giving them a call - they were very helpful when I phoned about my order. The phone lines open at 3PM UK time.

Oi Jad,

My Tin LE has been shipped from amazon.com and came in via the East Midlands too. It appears to have slipped through customs and is in a warehouse somewhere in London (see my post http://apolyton.net/forums/showthrea...threadid=30602 )

I received my LE from Amazon.com and the tax, paid on the doorstep, was £13.80.

Mine has now cleared customs, but UPS have managed to misroute it to Southampton somehow...
Someone is phoning me soon to discuss the situation; I'm not sure if I'm looking forward to the conversation or not really.

UPS have now promised to get it to me before 10:30am tomorrow, which I guess I'll have to live with.

On a better note, they've told me that Customs havn't put any duty charges on it for some reason!

Long story, I ordered originally with amazon.com back in september, and then when I saw that they weren't delivering to Europe I cancelled and went to EB. This was on the 30th October if I remember well. There was a problem with EB because of my UK credit card (I'm a Brit living in Sicily), so I decided to have a go with Amazon US anyway... on the 1/11 I saw that the game was being shipped in America, and I sent an email to Amazon (with some fear) saying was there a problem with my order? Next day, 2/11, I got an email that Civ 3 had been sent from Amazon via DHL, and would be with me in the following few days - and here it is!!

Now, implications of this are peculiar - I suspect Amazon doesn't know what the hell it's doing, and some of their people realise there's a block to European delivery of this game, and some do not. I guess it comes down to luck. But, it must be in _their_ interest to get the sales, so I imagine they don't like this embargo from infogrames at all.

In any case, the game will be in UK on 16th. I just couldn't wait!!

Again, good luck to everyone waiting for Civ 3 - I do hope it's worth it after all this!
