Changing a map in mid scenario creation
Well, I'm working hard on my second scenario. And I've run into a little bit of a problem. I want to modify my game map and can't figure out how or if I can do it. I read somewhere about adding rivers after a scenario was created, I was wondering if anybody else saw/read that post.

I think that it has to be done as an event terrain change. Haven't actually started building my own scenarios yet so there may be another way to do it.

Kitana,

The tip you're after is a Carl's Scenarios site;

Well you could activate the cheat menu and use the shift+f8 method to change the terrain one block at a time. This will take a long time however if you need to change a lot.

This is the only way I know.

Hope it helps.

Well, thanks for the advice. I don't have very much to change, just want to add an impact crater.

Well, have you ever seen the movie Deep Impact? Ever wonder what would have happened if the second half of the comet hit? Well, my scenario takes place 16 years after a comet hit the world causing an Extinction Level Event. 7 civilizations managed to survive this by taking refuge and stock piling supplies. Now the dust has cleared, the world looks like crap and you have to rebuild. Right now I'm working on the impact crater, placing the civs and the ruins of the world.

BTW, know anybody who could draw a Silo icon and a Mall icon?

I made a scenario about the exact same thing except I had 2 craters, one in the mid Atlantic and one in Asia, and I based it on Armaggedon (Didn't see Deep Impact )

Wow what a coincident.

You can download it at http://www.geocities.com/thecornmast...o/armagedd.zip
My other scenarios can be found at http://www.geocities.com/thecornmast...o/scenario.htm
haven't got them all put on the page yet.

Take a look maybe it will give you some ideas for your scenario.

P.S. I never bother changing Wonders/City Improvements/Titles

Try going to my scenario page. (The link is on that on too.) I also got a forbiddon error when I tried to download it. Hummmm.... have to check this out.

If you still can't get it I can send it to you in an e-mail. My ICQ # is 20706862 if you have ICQ can send it that way.

I hope I can get this error fixed soon.

Edit: I went to the scenario page and it worked fine. Wonder why the other link doesn't work.

Well, I managed to d/l your scenario and I liked the fact that you had built up a lot of cities. I'm sorry I haven't played it through, but I can also assure you that mine is quite different. If I get enough free time I will try playing it through.

Well, it will probably be a few weeks, but if you want to alpha-test that would be great!

Yeah I'll alpha-test it. Maybe you could alpha-test my newest scenario when ever I get it finished.

Send the files to cornmaster@xoommail.com

As you could see at the bottom of my page all the half finished scenarios that I have. I'm so stressed. I want to finish them all but I don't have the time. I also program in VB and I'm working on 4 or 5 programs there too!!!!!! And I'm not playing enough Quake lately either. (That's how I take out my fustration)

Edit: I just remembered that I was in the VERY final stages of another scenario before I stopped it. Well I just finished it up and uploaded it. If you would like to play it, it's Obtain the Necronamacon, and is the 3rd scenario on my scenario page. It won't take too long for you to play because you just have to take Ash to get the Book of the Dead. It's tough if you play on Emperor or higher but won't take too much time.

Well I will definitely give your scenario a test drive. I understand about being busy. I work on Web Sites, write articles/short stories for teens, work on scenarios, play multiplayer... lots of stuff and there never seems to be 28 hours in the day to do it all...
