800x600
Why is there no support for 800 X 600 ???
I see absolutely no reasoning for such a high resolution to this
type of game....turn-based strategy
I get a headache from eye-strain and High Anxiety from having
to watch from the clouds

So you're saying over 40% of the people who visit Apolyton still live in 1991? (http://extremetracking.com/open;sys?tag=apolyton)

Or that they are looking at the site from work....

I remember Markos posting something about the user rate for 800x600 and it was quite small...

Check out this poll ("Do you have 1024x768 or better resolution")

The results: 165 say yes, 15 say no.

I had missed the poll! I only have 800x600 at home (better at work!) but cannot upgrade (I have a laptop and don't want to buy a new one now). No hack can make the game run on lower res? I remember asking the civ3 team for that long ago but they never answered me.
Still, a little less than 10%, but how many won't upgrade? And is the average apolytoner, who spends quite some time on the web, the average civ-buyer?

Firaxis make great games, but can't care less for people that play them, making patches where unneded, and ignoring our requests for 800x600 constantly.

Do you know you can change the resolution of the game to play at higher ones? Have a look at the readme file. The videomode doesn't seem to work but the keepres does....
