Be careful of what you wish you
Be careful of what ya wish for...I really wanted a decent game of Civ3, but I'm afraid I approach the start game much like i did Civ2 or SMAC....build lots of cities to claim the prime territory I want.

*sigh*

All I wanted was to start my civ somewhere decent with some freaking resources and play. Hopefully not meeting any aggressive rivals until I at least had some secure borders and good units in decent supply. And I got it. I started out on a fairly large continent. I'm pretty certain that its too big for only me, so theres gotta be someone beyond the fog of war. But I haven't met them yet and its about 700 AD! Why is that bad?

After I hit all of the goodie huts in sight theres no one to trade techs with! I hate to admit it, but I think this has really stagnated my civ's growth. (That and the veritable wall of barbarians halting my eastward expansion. Which sucks. After a certain period in the timeline it becomes pointless to build more cities IMO...I wish they had something like the only cool thing from CTP2...the Urban Planner.)

Yep, even though I bang my head on the desk in frustration at being out expanded by the AI, I sure wish I had one trading partner to trade some techs with. According the game, as far as the Most advanced goes I'm almost last. Geez, any civ behind me would have to more Stone Age than Afghanistan!
